Ahh, now that Blogger has stopped acting so squirrelly, we can get back down to business. Well, not so much business... we can get back down to yapping about what chaps my ass.
And it didn't take long to start this morning, either. First off, if you haven't seen the morning news or listened to the radio yet, let me be the first to inform you that Abu Musab al-Zarqawi is dead. Two American F-16 aircraft fighters dropped two 500-pound bombs on a "safe house" where he was suspected to be. And this time, we were right.
Thank you, President Bush, for not giving up.
Thank you for having the stones to act. And the tenacity to persevere.
Thank you for not giving in to the mentality of some in this country which seeks to run from conflict at all cost, which seeks peace through surrender to a foe who despises weakness and rewards hesitation with death.
Now that Al Qaeda's #2 guy has assumed room temperature, the media has wasted no time in ignoring it in favor of drumming up anti-Bush sentiment once again. And the fringe Left can't stop foaming at the mouth long enough to even acknowledge (or even admit) the victory. Of course, when we didn't send capture Baghdad back in 1991 (even though it wasn't our mission), the Left was quick to throw stones about us not "finishing the job." And after dethroning Saddam and deposing the Taliban back in 2003, they were still whining about how we hadn't gotten Al Qaeda's leadership - most notably Bin Laden and al-Zarqawi.
Now that we've liberated Iraq and Afghanistan, captured or killed most of Al Qaeda's leaders and managed to keep Bin Laden on the run, the Left still quibbles.
Today should be a day to celebrate a victory for America over terrorism. But that would be beyond the capability of the extreme anti-Bush Left.
Luckily, the cut-and-run crowd hasn't had their way. Luckily, John Kerry and John Murtha aren't running the show. And so, today we're minus one more jihadist lunatic.

UPDATE:
Arg, Blogger is still having technical difficulties. So updates and new posts may be spotty today until they get this taken care of. Again. (I keep reminding myself this is a free service...)
Hot Air has footage of the airstrike that sent Zarqawi to hell.
Others blogging the good news (and the Left's reaction):
Ace of Spades HQ, Beth's VRWC, Captain's Quarters, Confederate Yankee, Crush Liberalism, Expose The Left, Hot Air, The Jawa Report, Mark In Mexico, Michelle Malkin, Texas Rainmaker, Tir's Territory
UPDATE 6/9/06: Check out this very good article digging into the disingenuous patriotism and duplicity among many on the Left.
Still spinning furiously, the left advanced the theory that Bush’s “rush to war” prevented us from killing Zarqawi in 2002. Leaving aside the notion that killing the terrorist at his lab would have been any more successful than President Clinton’s efforts to kill Osama Bin Laden by bombing his training camp in Afghanistan, one notices the flip-flop by the left immediately; if Saddam had no ties to terrorists, how is it possible that we “missed” anyone? And if he did indeed have ties to terrorist groups, doesn’t that justify the invasion and subsequent liberation of Iraq?Read the whole thing.
If I were you, I wouldn’t say any of that too loudly in the presence of a liberal. His head is likely to explode. ...
