Gays mock Christians, press silent

folsom.jpgThis is the promotional poster for a gay pride & leather parade in San Francisco called the Folsom Street Parade. It's sponsored by Miller (which means someone in charge there saw the project and signed off on it in order to include the company's logo) and it features a variety of gay men in leather S&M outfits positioned at a table to resemble Leonardo DaVinci's painting of Jesus and his disciples at "The Last Supper." Even more noteably, the wine and bread on the table in the painting are replaced in the poster with sex toys.

Leonardo_LastSupper.jpgI have no problem with gay pride or even having such an explicit parade, but think this poster goes way over the line. It's completely unnecessary, not to mention counter-productive, for gays to intentionally lash out at Christians when they're supposedly concerned with fitting in and being accepted by mainstream America.

A quick Google on this yields very little in the mainstream press. If Christians behaved like Muslims do, there would be riots and murders in the streets and this "anti-Christian bigotry" would be all over CNN. Good thing the followers of Christ don't behave like the followers of Mohammed.

Jawa on shari'a

Today, Rusty posted one of the best quotes I've read recently about Islamists' push for shari'a law in America.

"The Muslim American Society wishes to impose sharia law in the United States. Sure, they want to adopt Islamic law peacefully, through democratic means, but I'm sure that will be of little consolation to the first woman stoned to death for adultery or the first cartoonist beheaded for blasphemy."

Big propaganda win for Ahmadinejad

This is why we shouldn't allow that fleabitten tyrant access to America to use us as a podium.

Ahmadinejad lauded in Iran for "Lion's Den" visit
TEHRAN (Reuters) - President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad may have faced ridicule in the United States by suggesting there were no homosexuals in Iran, but he won praise at home on Wednesday for taking his country’s case to “the Lion’s Den.”

Generally, politicians and media in the Islamic Republic — even some who have previously criticized the president — described Ahmadinejad’s visit to New York as a triumph and denounced the university president who called him “a petty and cruel dictator.”
...
The president spoke at Columbia University on Monday and on Tuesday addressed the U.N. General Assembly, where he told world leaders the issue of Iran’s nuclear ambitions was “closed” and that military threats and sanctions had failed.

“By fearlessly and courageously walking into the ‘Lion’s Den’ ... he is sure to become even more of a hero in the Arab-Muslim street than before,” the daily Iran News wrote.
Attention Lee Bollinger and Columbia University: You might wanna work on your vocabulary:

Irving gets it right on illegal immigration

This one stuns me. These people have the gall to protest against the police for enforcing the law, especially in light of our recent explosion of illegal immigration.

Community Leaders Protest Program to Deport Criminal Aliens

Community leaders are meeting with Irving police Monday over a controversial program to deport criminal illegal immigrants.

Members of the Hispanic organization “Accion America,” along with other community and business leaders, have planned a meeting with the police chief of Irving.

The group plans to demand that the city suspend the criminal alien program because they claim immigrants in Irving are being unfairly targeted.

The group says Irving police officers have been confronting people at apartment complexes who appear to be immigrants and asking them about their legal status.

However, Irving police say they are only targeting complexes that have a high crime rate.

The criminal alien program was unanimously approve by the Irving City Council earlier this year. The program is intended to control illegal immigration problems in that city by deporting criminals.

The number one offense that illegal immigrants are being arrested for is driving with a suspended license, according to Irving Mayor Herbert Gears.

The number of those who have been deported so far this year is about 1,000 more than were deported in all of 2006.

Mayor Gears said he believes Irving leads the nation in the number of deportations.

Also at issue is the effect this crackdown is having on families.

While consulate officials say this is unacceptable, Mayor Gears says he stands by the program.
Irving is deporting CRIMINAL aliens. What's wrong with that? I think we should be deporting every single illegal alien we find, whether or not they've broken additional laws. But since we won't be doing that due to the overwhelming number we've allowed to cross our borders, getting rid of the criminals is a good place to start.

If it wasn't enough that we have "community leaders" seeking amnesty for illegals, the Mexican Consulate is now advising Mexicans against going to Irving.

Aside from the fact that it's none of their business how America enforces its laws, I happen to agree with their basic assertion. But not only should illegals Irving, I think Mexican nationals need to either emigrate legally or avoid the USA altogether.

Since the federal government can't seem to get off their collective asses and guard the borders of this country, I'm glad to see another local Dallas community getting tough on illegals. It's about time we do something to stop this invasion.

Liberals breathlessly embrace Iranian terrorist

Mahmoud_Ahmadinejad_hostages

Lemme see if I have this straight. Columbia University bans the ROTC because “the U.S. military remains closed to openly gay personnel,” yet they're falling all over themselves to host a terrorist DICKtator who executes homosexuals?

And these are the people who believe President Bush is evil?

Daily Kos, the new "mainstream" of the Democrat party, came out today with a poll where 45% of their readers would prefer to have Ahmadinejad as President of the USA.
20070924KosAhmadinejadPoll
They want Mahmoud Ahmadinejad – the terrorist scumbag who's actively helping Hamas, Hezbollah, and al-Qaeda terrorists murder American soldiers – to be their elected leader. The same guy who helped assault the US embassy in Tehran (an act of war) and held Americans hostage for 444 days.

If that's not enough to convince you of the absolute insanity of a frightening percentage of Democrats, another Kos-sack wrote a piece today, where she literally swoons over the very despot who would have no compunction about having her stoned to death for her sexuality.

I know I'm a Jewish lesbian and he'd probably have me killed. But still, the guy speaks some blunt truths about the Bush Administration that make me swoon…

Okay, I admit it. Part of it is that he just looks cuddly. Possibly cuddly enough to turn me straight.
[…]
There are certainly many things about Ahmadinejad that I abhor — locking up dissidents, executing of gay folks, denying the fact of the Holocaust, potentially adding another dangerous nuclear power to the world and, in general, stifling democracy. Even still, I can't help but be turned on by his frank rhetoric calling out the horrors of the Bush Administration and, for that matter, generations of US foreign policy preceding.
[…]
Monday, when Ahmadinejad speaks at Columbia University in New York, I'll be listening. Maybe with a bottle of wine and some soft music playing in the background.
Yeah, as long as a homicidal maniac speaks out against a Republican president, the far left can scarcely keep their panties dry.

I've asked before and I'll ask again: if these folks think it's so awful here and so wonderful somewhere else, why aren't they moving there? Put up or shut up.

Religion of Peace update: Bangladesh cartoon outrage

Big shockeroo, more Muslims are getting their boxers in a bunch and rioting over another cartoon, this time in Bangladesh. (h/t: LGF)

20070918BangladeshBlasphemy01
Violence over Bangladesh cartoon

Street clashes have broken out in the Bangladeshi capital, Dhaka, as Islamic activists protested over the publication of an "offensive" cartoon.

Witnesses say that hundreds joined the protest, even though such demonstrations are officially banned under the country's state of emergency.

Police baton-charged some of the protesters as they tried to break through barricades.

The leading Bangla-language newspaper published the offending cartoons.

Prothom Alo has since apologised for them and said that it has sacked an editor.
(Those responsible for sacking the people who have just been sacked, have been sacked. And when we say sacked, we mean beheaded.)
Witnesses say the violence began after Friday prayers, when protesters tried to break through barricades put up to prevent them reaching the Prothom Alo offices.

The demonstrators demanded the execution of the paper's editor, Matiur Rahman, and burned effigies of him and his Bengali-language daily.

The cartoon featured a conversation between a mullah and a child and ended with a joke about the Prophet Mohammed's name.
Nice. At least they finished their prayers before demanding the execution of the cartoonist in question.

What makes the cartoon so outrageous? Here's the supposed translation:
* Boy, what is your name?
- My name is Babu.
* It is customary to mention Muhammed before the name.

* What is your father’s name?
- Muhammed Abu

* What’s this in your lap?
- Muhammed cat

I guess it's a good thing that the comic strip "Jesus Cat" never caught on here in the states. Imagine the carnage.

Questions about the "Jena 6"

If six white teens had hospitalized a black teen by kicking and stomping him, do you think there'd be rallies in support of the whites? Would there be calls for the charges against them to be dropped?

And how do you think it'd be reported if the protesters shouted "White power!"?

That's essentially what's happening right now in Louisiana, only switch the races and you'll have it right. There are thousands of people demonstrating an appalling degree of racism and bigotry.

Thousands rally in Jena 'march for justice'

JENA, Louisiana (CNN) -- Thousands of protesters clogged the tiny town of Jena, Louisiana, Thursday to show their indignation over what they consider unjust, unequal punishments meted out in two racially charged incidents.

They swarmed over the grounds of Jena High School, surrounding the stump of the tree from which nooses hung in early August 2006, about three months before six black teens known as the "Jena 6" were accused of beating a white classmate.
...
In the background, groups shouted "Black power" and "No justice, no peace."
...
Demonstrators are protesting what they say are excessive criminal charges and bond amounts for the teens.

Bails for the "Jena 6" were set at between $70,000 and $138,000, and all but Bell have posted bond. Bell, 17, has been in prison since his arrest in December. The judge has refused to lower his $90,000 bail, citing Bell's criminal record, which includes four juvenile offenses -- two simple battery charges among them.
So what's excessive? One of the six thugs has a criminal record and history of violence, so it stands to reason that his bail might be higher.
"It breaks our heart to see him handcuffed and in leg shackles," Sharpton said. "But his spirit is high. He has said that he is very encouraged to know that thousands are coming to this town to stand up for him and his five friends."
Well, isn't that touching? Thousands of racists turn out to demonstrate in favor of violent punks who attempted to stomp a fellow student to death. It's so typical that Al Sharpton would gin up race hatred in order to keep himself in the limelight. I just find it odd that so many people are joining him in his support for violent delinquents.
The teens were initially charged with attempted murder after they allegedly knocked out Justin Barker -- a white classmate -- while stomping and kicking him during a school fight on December 4, 2006.

Barker was taken to a hospital with injuries to both eyes and ears as well as cuts. His right eye had blood clots,
said his mother, Kelli Barker.
Based on the injuries Barker received, I can understand why the initial charges were for attempted murder. The "Jana 6" didn't seem satisfied just to beat up this kid, they seem like they were gonna make sure he was hospitalized or worse.

It's damn savage, no matter what race is on either side of this fight. Six against one is cowardly and wrong, and it's just as wrong to come to the defense of the cowards just because of the color of their skin.

More lefties against the troops at Daily Kos

20070919KosTroops.jpg
Take a look at this diary entry from yesterday on Daily Kos and tell me that we shouldn't question his patriotism. Or his intelligence.

It makes me sad to see that the mainstream of the Democrat party is increasingly anti-military and anti-American. Daily Kos and MoveOn.org keep moving further left, to the point of being downright hateful of America and our way of life. At least this particular puke is honest in admitting his disdain for our soldiers and the good work they're accomplishing. (h/t: LGF)

Ahmadinejad at Ground Zero?

I'm enraged beyond words at the idea of Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's desire to visit Ground Zero in NYC. And even more so that it appears the Secret Service may allow it to happen.

Unbelievable.

We are at war with radical Islam. Iran provided support to the 9/11 hijackers. And continues to actively support terrorism, supplying al-Qaeda with weapons that kill American soldiers. Iran is our enemy. Ahmadinejad's only visit to America should be a quick stop at the Holocaust museum before being whisked away to Gitmo.

A commenter at Ace of Spades has a different idea:

Count me in the "let him go there" camp, for a variety of reasons.

First, he should experience what good ol' freedom of speech really feels like, courtesy of the free American people.

Second, we should be letting him know how full of shite he is. His ambassador of peace routine isn't fooling anyone.

Third, maybe an enterprising young American will mistake him for Archduke Ferdinand.
Sounds good to me.

Why do liberals mandate insanity?

What is it that liberals are drinking lately, aside from Al Gore's global warming Kool-Aid?

Whether it's Sheryl Crow telling us we have to use one square of toilet paper to wipe our asses, or Cate Blanchett telling us we should be drinking our own urine in order to save the planet, or Congress dictating what kind of light bulbs we should be allowed to buy, or lefties wanting to outlaw SUVs, the far left in this country just seem to be going further and further off the deep end.

Of course, all this "green" insanity pales in comparison to Senators Harry Reid and Dick Durbin's continual efforts to ram open-borders amnesty schemes down our throats (despite the huge public outcry against it), John Edwards' proposal for government-mandated doctor visits and Hillary's repackaged socialist healthcare, where people would have to provide proof of insurance before being allowed to hold a job! As crazy as the environmentalists are, these Marxists will be looking to raise taxes in order to pay for the trillions their scatterbrained fascism would require.

It's not enough to be inside our heads via political correctness, or inside our wallets via confiscatory tax rates, they want to control every aspect of our lives. For all the screeching I've heard from the left about President Bush supposedly curtailing their freedom by spying on terrorists who are hiding in our country, it's a little surprising to see these same people clamoring to have their freedom of choice taken away. But seeing as how the Democrats' proposals entail penalizing achievers in favor of spreading poverty (and rewarding illegal immigrants with additional incentive to invade our country), it's not entirely beyond belief.

Student tasered in Dem display of free speech

Ah, the tolerance of Democrats. Don't they usually try to portray themselves as the paragons of free speech and dissent?

Just don't ask them any tough questions.

Police Taser student at Kerry speech
U.S. Sen. John Kerry's speech at the University of Florida came to a dramatic close Monday, shortly after a vocal audience member was hauled off by police and shot with a Taser gun.

Toward the conclusion of Kerry's UF forum, 21-year-old Andrew Meyer approached an open microphone at University Auditorium and demanded Kerry answer his questions. Meyer, a UF student in the College of Journalism and Communications, claimed that University Police Department officers had already threatened to arrest him, and then proceeded to question Kerry about why he didn't contest the 2004 presidential election and why there had been no moves to impeach President Bush.

A minute or so into what became a combative diatribe, Meyer's microphone was turned off and officers began trying to physically remove him from the auditorium. Meyer flailed his arms, yelling as police tried to restrain him.

He was then pushed to the ground by six officers, at which point Meyer yelled, "What have I done? What I have I done? Get away from me. Get off of me! What did I do? Help me! Help."

Police threatened to use a Taser on Meyer if he did not "comply," but he continued to resist being handcuffed. He was then Tased, which prompted him to scream and writhe in pain on the floor of the auditorium.

After the incident, Capt. Jeff Holcomb of the UPD said Meyer had been charged with disrupting a public event and placed in the Alachua County jail.
I realize that John Kerry himself didn't taser the young man, but what do you think the New York Times would have to say if this was a speech by President Bush, and an outspoken activist was handcuffed and then tasered?

Terrorist contributors here in Texas

I just saw a very disturbing post today over at The Jawa Report:

At least three U.S. companies continue to do business with the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) terrorist organization. The PIJ is a violent offshoot of the Muslim Brotherhood and shares the same longer terms goals as al Qaeda. The shorter term goal of PIJ is the destruction of the state of Israel and the establishment of sharia (Islamic) law. The PIJ is known to intentionally target and kill civilians, including Israeli children.

Often web-based companies do not know who they are doing business with and do not monitor the content they serve because financial transactions and webpage building takes place online through standardized forms and templates.

Since The Jawa Report ran a story on September 5th about the PIJ websites enabled by American corporations, all three companies have been notified that they are violating US law. None of the companies have responded and all continue to help these violent terrorists spread their message, recruit new blood, and inspire the murder of civilians.

PIJ has been designated a Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO) and the leaders of PIJ Specially Designate Nationals by the U.S. State Department. Under U.S. law it is illegal to provide business services, even free ones, to terrorists such as the PIJ.

The three PIJ websites are:
http://www.shikaki.net/
http://www.sarayaalquds.org/
http://www.falestiny.net/

Below: each of the three websites carries the logo of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad.

Domain registration services are provided to PIJ for all three websites from the Sunnyvale California internet giant Yahoo!.

Webhosting is provided to all three PIJ websites from Dallas, Texas:

ThePlanet.com Internet Services, Inc.
1333 North Stemmons Freeway
Suite 110 Dallas, TX
abuse@theplanet.com
Supposedly, CNN is in the process of doing a story on these scumbags. But I urge you to join me in contacting Yahoo, theplanet.com, and our elected representatives in the meanwhile to help put an end to this shameless support of barbarism.

France rattles its saber

Who'd have believed that some of the strongest words condemning Iran's nuclear ambitions would come from the historically-passive French?

Prepare for war with Iran, says French minister
The world should "prepare for war" with Iran, the French foreign minister has said, significantly escalating tensions over the country's nuclear programme.

Bernard Kouchner said that while "we must negotiate right to the end" with Iran, if Teheran possessed an atomic weapon it would represent "a real danger for the whole world".

The world should "prepare for the worst... which is war", he said.

His comments came after Washington reminded Teheran that "all options were on the table" in confronting its nuclear policy, which many officials in the West believe has the ultimate aim of arming a nuclear warhead, despite Iran's claim that it is for civilian purposes.
A nice change from Chirac's cowardice.

Drawing and gearing up to interview

This weekend, I got a chance to spend a lot of time with my youngest daughter. And since she wasn't able to get the art class she wanted at school this semester, I had promised I'd teach her a few things over the coming months.

candles-vase_still_life.jpg So today, I set up a still-life with a vase and some candles, gave her a pencil and some paper and set her to work. We discussed some basics of drawing what she actually sees instead of falling back on symbols for what she thinks she sees (like the way most people draw a circle for a face or stick figures instead of what they actually see when they look at people). And she jumped into the assignment. She did a great job of capturing the shapes and perspective. So we worked on light and shading. It took a while, but she really made excellent progress. Far better than I could do at her age!

hannya_skull.jpgWhile she was working intently on her own project, I did some further work on something I started last week: a Japanese "hannya" mask which I changed into a skull. And instead of inking this one like a tattoo, I went ahead and did some good old crosshatching with the ink pen, determined to work on some skills I've allowed to atrophy. Although I've made a ton of mistakes on this one and it still needs more work as well as color, I'm happy to be creating again and moving in a positive direction.

Now it's time to do a bit of studying for tomorrow morning. I have a 9:00am phone interview for which I need to brush up on this agency and their work as well as mentally prepare myself.

9/11: Six Years On

It's hard to believe it's been six years since the attacks on September 11, 2001. I still can't watch the footage without tearing up, and it makes me angry when I see people already downplaying the significance of that day, or claiming that our own leaders orchestrated this heinous act. In the weeks after the towers fell, Americans vowed to "never forget." But our current political climate says otherwise. When our elected leaders would rather tear each other down over political power rather than continue the fight against those sworn to enslave or murder us, it shows just how tragic our short attention span has become.

This fight will not be over quickly. It probably won't be over within the next decade, it may not even be over within my lifetime. But I will never forget. I won't forget those who were killed because they don't pray to Allah. I won't forget the heroism of the men and women who risked – and in many cases – gave their lives to rescue the victims of the towers and the Pentagon. I won't forget the courage of the people who refused to allow hijackers to turn Flight 93 into another weapon of mass destruction. And won't forget the fortitude of our soldiers who believe in the cause of freedom, fighting and giving their lives to protect ours.

Moveon.org smears Gen Petraeus, Dems silent

Sickening.

Far-left activist group MoveOn.org set the bar for despicable conduct during the Clinton impeachment, when it was formed to urge Congress to overlook Clinton's various crimes while in public office. And they've led the charge for Democrats' Bush Derangement Syndrome when they ran ads comparing President Bush to Adolph Hitler. They've developed quite a knack for creating memes which extremist liberals enjoy parroting.

Today, they're smearing General Petraeus, running a full page ad in the New York Times (naturally) claiming that he's a traitor to his country because his assessment of the war in Iraq differs from what they want to hear. Of course, this happened BEFORE they heard what he has to say.

Seeing as how Gen. Petraeus is one of our American soldiers, is this how the Left supports the troops?

These "progressives" are downright sick and twisted with hatred and political ambition. Deranged doesn't even begin to cover their behavior.

Michelle Malkin and Little Green Footballs are liveblogging the testimony, as well as providing a good roundup of some response to this rabid attack by the Far Left.

The Weekly Standard's Pete Pete Hegseth sums up this outrage:

Let's be clear: MoveOn.org is suggesting that General Petraeus has 'betrayed' his country. This is disgusting. To attack as a traitor an American general commanding forces in war because his 'on the ground' experience does not align with MoveOn.org's political objectives is utterly shameful. It shows contempt for America's military leadership, as well as for the troops who have confidence in him, as our fellow soldiers in Iraq certainly do.

General Petraeus has served this country for over 35 years with honor, distinction, and integrity. And this is not just about General Petraeus. After all, if General Petraeus is "cooking the books," then the entire military chain of command in Baghdad, and all the staff, military and civilian, who have been working with General Petraeus are complicit, since Petraeus did not write his report in isolation. They are all, apparently, 'betray[ing] us.'
Do these extreme Left tools REALLY believe that the entire chain of command in our military is completely bereft of character? Do they really believe that everyone is conspiring to throw away our soldiers' lives?

Oh wait, I forgot, these are the same folks that believe 9/11 was an inside job. Nevermind. Please continue...
MoveOn.org has been working closely with the Democratic congressional leadership --as an article in today's Sunday New York Times Magazine makes clear. And consider this comment by a Democratic senator from Friday's Politico: "'No one wants to call [Petraeus] a liar on national TV,' noted one Democratic senator, who spoke on the condition on anonymity. 'The expectation is that the outside groups will do this for us.'

So, veterans who served in Iraq ask the Democratic leaders in Congress: Does MoveOn.org speak for you? Do you agree with MoveOn.org? Or do you repudiate this despicable charge?

MoveOn.org has helped frame the core choice: Whom do we trust to run this war--MoveOn.org and its allies in Congress, or Gen. David Petraeus and his colleagues?
Indeed, let's hear the answers from the Democrat leadership. Because the Dem rank and file have made their position crystal clear.

UPDATE: Gen. Petraeus' statement is available here.

Since there's been no official Democrat repudiation of MoveOn.org's slandering Gen. Petraeus, we might wanna ask the same questions of the Democrat presidential candidates, many of whom are firmly in the hip pocket of MoveOn. Will they also ignore any good news about our troops while they turn a blind eye to the antics of their kook fringe? More importantly, will they continue to accept money from MoveOn?

Religion of Peace update: Islamist parade

Here are a few lowlifes highlights from yesterday's march by the "Islamist Thinkers' Society."

Don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out. Go back to the primitive countries that enjoy perpetuating the sixth century!

Stand By The American Mission petition

petitionad.jpg
With the Petraeus' briefing just around the corner, there's now a special petition you can sign to declare your support for General Petraeus and the troop surge in Iraq. (h/t: LGF)

Today, U.S. forces are making real and significant progress. We are driving al-Qaeda out of key strongholds, recruiting Iraqis to join the fight, and training them to defend themselves.

General Petraeus and the new U.S. Ambassador to Iraq, Ryan Crocker, will report to Congress in mid-September on the American effort. We urge our nation's leaders to:
  1. Recognize the importance of fighting and defeating al-Qaeda, wherever they can be found, not least in Iraq;
  2. Consider the testimony of General Petraeus and Ambassador Crocker with an open mind and without regard for partisan politics;
  3. Recognize the significant threat to U.S. national security that a hasty retreat or a made-in-Washington timetable for withdrawal from Iraq would generate; and
  4. Listen to the U.S. service members who willingly sacrifice to protect our country and who do not want defeat legislated in Washington so long as American troops are on the battlefield.
America has a chance to strike a serious blow against terrorism and the ideologies that drive terrorism. By contrast, the defeat of the United States would embolden terrorists, making the world a more dangerous place for Americans and consigning the people of Iraq and the Middle East to a perilous future.

We urge you to support our troops by giving them the resources and time they need to successfully complete their mission.

Osama Bin Laden sounds like a Democrat

Al Qaeda's HGIF (head goatf*cker in charge), Osama bin Laden, has released another anti-American diatribe via videotape this week. Why is it that the leader of the terrorists sounds like he's reading from the Democrat playbook? Or is it the other way around? Check a few of the excerpts via ABC: (h/t: Crush Liberalism)

He says to the American people, “you made one of your greatest mistakes, in that you neither brought to account nor punished those who waged this war, not even the most violent of its murderers, [former Defense Secretary Donald] Rumsfeld…”
...
“You permitted Bush to complete his first term, and stranger still, chose him for a second term, which gave him a clear mandate from you — with your full knowledge and consent — to continue to murder our people in Iraq and Afghanistan. Then you claim to be innocent! The innocence of yours is like my innocence of the blood of your sons on the 11th — were I to claim such a thing.”
...
“People of America: the world is following your news in regards to your invasion of Iraq, for people have recently come to know that, after several years of tragedies of this war, the vast majority of you want it stopped. Thus, you elected the Democratic Party for this purpose, but the Democrats haven’t made a move worth mentioning. On the contrary, they continue to agree to the spending of tens of billions to continue the killing and war there.”
...
"The entire world came out in unprecedented demonstrations to warn against waging the war and describe its true nature in eloquent terms like 'no to spilling red blood for black oil', ..."
...
He goes on to call Noam Chomsky “among one of the most capable of those from your own side,” and mentions global warming and “the Kyoto accord.”
...
According to the transcript, bin Laden says there are two ways to end the war:

“The first is from our side, and it is to continue to escalate the killing and fighting against you.”

The second is to do away with the American democratic system of government. “It has now become clear to you and the entire world the impotence of the democratic system and how it plays with the interests of the peoples and their blood by sacrificing soldiers and populations to achieve the interests of the major corporations.”
John Gibson did a comparison of Osama Bin Laden's speech (full trascript here) with the words of MSNBC's lefty pundit Keith Olberman:

Another interview, fingers crossed!

The past few days, blogging has been light for a few reasons. At the beginning of the week, I was doing some freelance for a tiny agency over in Fort Worth (hey, at least it was some money coming in). And the past couple days, I've been getting prepared for an interview I had this morning with an interactive agency here in Dallas. VERY cool shop, I'm really hoping they're gonna make an offer. The place itself has a super-cool vibe, they have a "work hard, play hard" mentality which is reflected in a modern, laid-back environment where their employees are empowered and treated with respect. The atmosphere is casual but professional. Lots of advanced technology evident throughout the place. Good design and Feng Shui. I'd SO fit there. I got along well with the Group Creative Director in the interview and I think I represented myself well in terms of not only my past work, but the kind of work I'd like to do.

I have been studying up on Web 2.0 technology for the past few months and am really learning quite a lot that I was able to speak to. Hopefully I sounded remotely educated on emerging technology as well as progressive marketing that allows users/consumers to add content and use the site for their needs rather than the client simply whipping a message at them. Not only is that MUCH cooler, it's more in line with my own philosophy.

Anyway, I have to send my salary requirements to the HR guy. That always makes me nervous if you don't know the range with which they're comfortable. I want – and desperately need – this job. But don't want to shortchange myself or price myself out of consideration. This will require a bit of careful thinking and writing.

Now back to the regularly scheduled blog, already in progress...

Fred Thompson's gonna run!

It's about damn time.

Last night, Fred Thompson blew off the GOP debate to appear on The Tonight Show to officially declare his candidacy for President. I'm cautiously optimistic.

Clintons blocking "Path to 9/11"?

What's this? The Clintons might be suppressing information that accurately portrays their negligence in fighting terrorists? Say it ain't so! I guess Sandy Berger must not have been able to shred this one, so they're having to censor it themselves.

LA Times: Among the nearly two dozen television DVDs slated for nationwide release on Sept. 11 is the second season of "Bones," the third season of "Grey's Anatomy" and the miniseries "The Starter Wife" that aired earlier this year. Not on the list on that day or any other in the near future is last year's highly controversial "The Path to 9/11."

The $40-million, five-hour ABC miniseries, which recently received seven Emmy nominations and drew a combined two-night audience of more than 25 million viewers, is for now on the path to nowhere. Its Amazon page reads: "Currently unavailable. We don't know when or if this item will be back in stock."

With no date for the release, questions are being raised about whether political pressure is behind its current status as a stalled or discarded DVD project. The reasons are murky, but the miniseries' writer, Cyrus Nowrasteh, believes it's crystal clear: Powerful forces are out to protect Bill Clinton's presidential legacy and shield Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.) from any potential collateral damage in her bid for the White House.

Nowrasteh, also one of the miniseries' many producers, said he was told by a top executive at ABC Studios that "if Hillary weren't running for president, this wouldn't be a problem."

Religion of Peace update: Germans foil jihadists

Good news for the update this time.

Germany foils 'massive' bomb plot
Three men have been arrested in Germany on suspicion of planning a "massive" terrorist attack on US facilities in the country, officials have said.

Federal prosecutor Monika Harms said the three had trained at camps in Pakistan and procured some 700kg (1,500lbs) of chemicals for explosives.

She said the accused had sought to target facilities visited by Americans, such as nightclubs, pubs or airports.

Defence Minister Franz Josef Jung said the men had posed "an imminent threat".

Media reports said they were planning attacks against a US military base in Ramstein and Frankfurt airport.

Ms Harms said the men planned to use vehicles loaded with the explosives to kill or injure large numbers of people.

The arrests had prevented "massive bomb attacks", she said.

The suspects, aged 22, 28 and 29, were alleged to be members of the German cell of a group she named as Islamic Jihad Union.

Two of the men were German nationals who had converted to Islam, while the third was a Turkish man.

Ms Harms said the al-Qaeda-linked group had set up the cell last year.

All three men had attended a training camp in Pakistan, police sources said.

Joerg Ziercke, the head of Germany's federal crime office, said the men had a "profound hatred of US citizens".

Male restroom etiquette lessons for Sen. Craig

I addressed the issue of Sen. Larry Craig's airport escapades last week, and I've posted this little jewel before, but it seems like everyone could use a refresher in the finer points of restroom etiquette.

Howard Dean urges Islamists to run for office

DNC Chairman Howard Dean spoke at the Islamic Society of North America conference this weekend, where he told them to run for political office because it's "... the only way you can achieve your goals."

Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean told American Muslims gathered in Rosemont to think beyond voter registration drives.

“You need to run for political office,” Dean said Saturday. “The only way you can achieve your goals is to stand up and say who you are and be proud of it.”

Those in the packed house rose to their feet and applauded. [I wonder if this means they're proud to associate with terrorists? – Ed.]

Dean was one of several prominent Democrats on Saturday to address the nation’s largest gathering of American Muslims. Republicans declined invitations, organizers said. ...

“Be heard. Don’t be silent. Tell it like it is,” said Rep. Keith Ellison, the first Muslim elected to Congress. “If you don’t tell your story, someone else will. And you may be the villain in their story,” the Minnesota Democrat said.

Ellison, too, received a standing ovation. ...

“There are people who want to see Muslims not only at the table but on the ticket,” said Malik Mujahid, president of the Council of Islamic Organizations of Greater Chicago, which sponsored the “Take Back America Rally” involving Dean.
And just what are the ISNA's goals, I wonder?

Let's look at some facts on the ISNA.I bet we can figure out what ISNA's goals are.

In light of all this, I have to wonder what Dean's goals are.

Daily Kos tries treason again

20070902DailyKos.jpg

It's sad that some so-called Americans just can't seem to muster the courage to stand with the side they actually believe in. In this case, it's Iran. But nope, it's easier for these cretins to enjoy the freedoms of America and publish what is supposedly classified military secrets. Just like their heroes at The New York Times. I wonder, what could be the end goal of such sedition?

The nutter Kos contributor, Maccabee, published a diary called Daily Kos: ‘We Are Going To Hit Iran. Bigtime’. In it, he reveals what might be military secrets supposedly revealed to him by a friend who is a U.S. Naval officer. Not surprisingly, this kossack is so deranged he seems to believe Iran are the good guys. And that there's nothing wrong with Iran having nukes, despite the fact that Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has threatened to use them to wipe Israel off the map.

“I have become cynical only recently. I also don’t believe anyone will be able to stop this. Bush has become something of an Emperor. He will give the command, and cruise missiles will fly and aircraft will fly and people will die, and yet few of us here are really able to cobble together a great explanation of why this is a good idea. Of course many of us can give you the 4H Club lecture on democracy in the Mid East. But if you asked any of the flight officers whether they have a clear idea of what the goal of this strike is, your answer would sound like something out of a think tank policy paper. But it’s not like Kosovo or when we relieved the tsunami victims. There everyone could tell you in a sentence what we were here doing.”

“That’s what’s missing. A real sense of purpose. What’s missing is the answer to what the hell are we doing out here threatening this country with all this power? Last night in the galley, an ensign asked what right do we have to tell a sovereign nation that they can’t build a nuke. I mean the table got EF Hutton quiet. Not so much because the man was asking a question that was off culture. But that he was asking a good question. In fact, the discussion actually followed afterwards topside where someone in our group had to smoke a cigarette. The discussion was intelligent but also in lowered voices. It’s like we aren’t allowed to ask the questions that we always ask before combat. It’s almost as if the average seaman or soldier is doing all the policy work.”
Let's hope none of the post was true. In the spirit of protecting Iran, I guess, Maccabee thought it better to disclose vital strategic information in his diary. Guess he never heard the phrase "loose lips sink ships."

In an interesting development, Kos decided to pull the diary entry. Hrmm, I wonder why?

Cox and Forkum nails WaPo's censorship

Via Fox News:

Washington Post, Other Newspapers Won't Run 'Opus' Cartoon Mocking Radical Islam.
A popular comic strip that poked fun at the Rev. Jerry Falwell without incident one week ago was deemed too controversial to run over the weekend because this time it took a humorous swipe at Muslim fundamentalists.

The Washington Post and several other newspapers around the country did not run Sunday's installment of Berkeley Breathed's "Opus," in which the spiritual fad-seeking character Lola Granola appears in a headscarf and explains to her boyfriend, Steve, why she wants to become a radical Islamist.

The installment did not appear in the Post's print version, but it ran on WashingtonPost.com and Salon.com. The same will hold true for the upcoming Sept. 2 strip, which is a continuation of the plotline.
